Visitors try out the pool at the grand opening of the new Holladay-Lion's Fitness and Recreation Center at 1661 E. Murray Holladay Road on Friday. The facility is the fourth major fitness and recreation center funded by Salt Lake County's Zoo, Arts and Parks Program. The $5.8 million center includes a 240,000-gallon indoor swimming pool with lap lanes, water slide, pool toys, hot tub and a current channel. The center also includes a 4,000-square-foot fitness area with weight machines, as well as a fully equipped aerobics facility. Classes are offered on activities ranging from yoga to kick boxing.
