OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) — A woman convicted of murdering her sister and stuffing her dismembered body in a freezer so she could steal her identity was sentenced to life without parole.

Sarah Mitchell, 50, was found guilty last month of murdering her sister, Stevie Allman, a 52-year-old anti-drug crusader.

Mitchell, who was sentenced Tuesday, began posing as Allman in 1997 after the home they shared burned down. Mitchell claimed they were victims of a firebombing and got $3,600 in sympathy checks.
