KAYSVILLE-- Elder Daniel Byrne Roundy, 19, of Kaysville, Utah, completed his earthly mission the afternoon of Friday, Jan. 28, 2000, after involvement in an automobile accident near Osceola, Iowa, where he was serving as a full-time missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Daniel was born June 2, 1980, in Ogden, Utah, to Steven Hale and Neka Fernelius Roundy.Daniel was an Eagle Scout and worked as a counselor at Camps Kiesel and Loll. He graduated in 1998 from Davis High School. He loved sports, especially basketball, soccer, and snowboarding. Daniel attended Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho, then chose to serve a two-year church mission in the Iowa Des Moines Mission. He expressed his great love for the people in Iowa, and a contagious enthusiasm for sharing with them the Gospel of Jesus Christ. His smile, compassion, sense of humor and twinkle in his eyes will always be remembered. His testimony of Jesus Christ is priceless.

Daniel is survived by his parents, Steven and Neka Roundy; sister, Rebecca, Erin and Katie; grandmother, Alta H. Roundy, Layton; grandparents, Byrne and Jean Fernelius, Chatsworth, California; uncle, Bart Fernelius; and cousins, Eric, Nick and Emma, of Simi Valley, CA; aunt, Sharee Smith, Cheyenne, WY; uncles, Mike and Gary Roundy; and cousins, Scott and Mark Roundy, Angie Henderson, Jenna Andrascik and Kemy Roundy. He is preceded by grandfather Kendall Roundy in passing from this life.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 4, 2000, at 11 a.m. at the Kaysville 2nd North LDS Chapel, 875 E. 200 No. Friends and family may call Thursday at Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield, from 5-8 p.m. and on Friday at the church from 9-10:30 a.m. Interment KaysvilleCity Cemetery.
