HEBER CITY, UT
- Bernice Clegg Engstrom, age 88, passed away following a stroke on Monday, Feb. 28, 2000, while staying with her daughter in California.Born December 7, 1911 in Heber City, Utah. Bernice was the daughter of John Henry and Martha Ellen Clegg. Her childhood was spent in the Heber City area. In 1935, she married Uno Valfrid Engstrom. During her school years in Heber City, she enjoyed acting in school plays, and singing and dancing. Her love of music stayed with her throughout her lifetime and, her talent of playing beautiful music on the piano remained with her to the end. Her husband's work took them to many parts of the world. She has lived in Turkey, the Philippines, Canada, Venezuela, and many area of the western United States. She enjoyed traveling, remaining an active "tourist" in her later years. Her love of life, enthusiasm, wit and charm, and the ability to always remain "young at heart," are qualities that were admired by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Uno V. Engstrom. Survivors include her daughter, Sandra Anderson of Atherton, CA; son, John Michael Engstrom of London, England; five grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, March 3, 2000, 11 a.m. in the Heber 3rd LDS Ward Chapel, 240 East, 400 South, Heber City, Utah. Friends may call from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to the service at the LDS Chapel. Interment will follow in the Heber City Cemetery, Heber City, Utah.
