Alice White Bigelow, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, passed away Sunday, April 9, 2000 at the age of 94 in Bountiful, Utah.

Alice was born October 23, 1905 in Brigham City, Utah to Ernest A. White Sr. and Olive M. Hamson. Alice married Dr. Welby W. Bigelow in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on June 9, 1926.She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings including Relief Society President. About 1945, Dr. Bigelow became acting Director of Utah State Board of Health in Salt Lake City. At this time they were very active in the Church and in the Cosmo Club.

To assist her husband in the raising of three sons, she worked at Fort Douglas during the war and later as a secretary in Cleveland, Ohio. For a short time she was a substitute teacher in the Redwood City California Public Schools.

Alice loved genealogy and she was an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Mayflower Society and The Colonial Dames. Alice found time for gardening, and she loved painting, including water and oil color paintings. In her later years she enjoyed dabbling in stocks and bonds and unselfishly gave some of the stocks to her grandchildren. She loved her family immensely and never forgot a

birthday.

She is survived by her brother, Grant White of Salt Lake City; her children, Dr. Welby W. Bigelow, Jr. of Walnut Creek, California; David Bigelow of Bountiful, Utah; and Grant Bigelow of Gresham, Oregon; 12 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Welby; sister, Ruth Sessions; brother, Ernie White, Jr.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 15, at 11 a.m. at the Bountiful 9th Ward Chapel, 585 East Center Street where friends may call from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment-Brigham City Cemetery, 325 South 300 East, Brigham City, Utah.
