ST. GEORGE, Utah-- Frederick D. Alldredge, our loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother, 85, returned to his Heavenly Father on April 1, 2000 after a sudden battle with pneumonia at the Dixie Regional Medical Center.
He was born March 9, 1915 in Sandy, Utah to Ruel LeRoy and Ida Diseret Jaynes Alldredge. He married Jeanne Loader May 21, 1941 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, almost 59 years ago. Fred resided all his life in the Sandy/Holladay area. He graduated from Jordan High School, got married, then served his country in World War II. He was given an Honorary Medal for his service in the Reconnaissance Co. of the 821st Tank Destroyers, 29th Infantry Division in the Battle of the Bulge. Fred served in many positions in the LDS Church. At the time of his death, he was 1st counselor in the High Priests Quorum. He loved serving in the church, especially with the missionaries and serving in the Temple. Fred and his companion were called at the time of the dedication of the Jordan River Temple, and served there for eight years and they loved it! After the war, Fred worked at Hewlett Brothers in Salt Lake City, Utah. Then in 1942 he started his work as a Nutritional Counselor with the Neo-Life Co. of California. Many people are grateful to him for helping them to enjoy good health. Someone once said, "When an older man dies, a library burns."Fred is survived by his wife, Jeanne; six wonderful children: Bonnie Jeanne Alldredge, St. George, UT; Fred E.
