Erin Brockovich wasn't afraid to take on big business, but she couldn't buck one establishment: the Internal Revenue Service.

Brockovich, speaking at the Everywoman's Money Conference on Friday, said she wished she had known about tax law loopholes when she got a $2 million bonus.

"I did get $2 million," Brockovich told the audience in Pittsburgh. "The IRS took $1.1 million. It's a shock, isn't it? I'll never forget the day I paid that check. I held up the line at the post office . . . because I wouldn't drop the check in the box."
