"She seemed a thing that could not feel the touch of earthly years."

William Wordsworth <! >

Chelsea Anne Hale, our well-loved daughter, sister, and friend, passed away January 27, 2001, as the result of injuries sustained in an accident.

Chelsea was born January 19, 1981 to Jon M. and Karen Weggeland Hale. From the time of her birth, she was a constant source of joy in the lives of all those who knew her. She had many friends in every age group and from all walks of life. Her smile gave her an automatic entree in any circle.

Chelsea loved life and people and adventure. She packed more into her 20 years of life than many people do into eighty. She loved travel and had recently returned from BYU Study Abroad in London. In 1999, she was part of a CHOICE expedition to Kenya where she cared for sick children. Following her service there, she climbed Mount

Kilimanjaro.

Chelsea graduated from Highland High in 1999, where she had served as Senior Class Vice President. She was involved in all things good. She volunteered at Edison school and for the Special Olympics.

At the time of her death, Chelsea was an honors student at the University of Utah. She was a member of Delta Gamma Sorority and worked in the office of Olympic Opportunities.

Chelsea was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. While in London, she was a Primary leader in an African Branch. This calling brought her immeasurable joy. She loved the Savior's teachings and was a wonderful example of one who lived what she believed.

Chelsea is survived by her parents, Jon and Karen; her sisters: Ali and Hannah, her brothers: Adam and Sam; grandparents: Ray and Barbara Townsend, Don and Shirley Hale, Warren Weggeland. She will be deeply missed by her many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends around the world.
