The International Society of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers will dedicate its new Centennial Monument on Wednesday, Dec. 12, at 1 p.m. at the DUP Museum, 300 N. Main.

This new monument is a 6-foot-tall statue of a pioneer woman holding a doll.

"Ever Pressing Forward" is the title of the new monument, cast in bronze and sculpted by Karl Quilter. It will be dedicated in honor of all the children who were buried along the pioneer trail. The woman has just buried one of her children along the pioneer trail and has a young boy at her side.

The public is invited to the dedication and donations are still being accepted for the monument's cost.
