Robert Elwood Carter, 73, of Orem Utah was called home to our Heavenly Father on his Birthday on Saturday. He was surrounded by his family and loved ones most of the day.
He was born to Malinda Newell and Elwood B. Carter in Provo, Utah on December 15, 1928. He married Gladys L. Olsen, his life long companion of 54 years in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on December 15, 1947. They were blessed with four sons, one daughter, 17 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Gladys Carter of Orem; his children, Robert (VaNiece) of Pleasant Grove; Scott (Debbie) also of Pleasant Grove; Blaine (Cristi) of Orem;
Elwood of Orem; and Julie Allen (David) of Lehi; and all of his grandchildren. He also left behind three brothers, Newell, Vern and Sandy, and two sisters Linda Mae Giles and Lila Jean Williams.
He cherished his wife and family and left behind a rich posterity who all loved and respected him greatly! There are not words enough to express our love and gratitude to him for all he taught us and for the talents he has passed onto us. He was a wonderful example and will be greatly missed. We love you Dad!
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 19, 2001 at 11 a.m. in the Geneva Heights Ward Chapel, 590 North 900 West, in Orem. Friends may call Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at the Sundberg-Olpin
Funeral Home, 495 So. State Street in Orem and also 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the ward chapel. Interment will take place in the Orem City Cemetery.
