LOS ANGELES, (Reuters) — Veteran actor John Mitchum, the younger brother of movie star Robert Mitchum, has died at age 82 due to complications from a series of three strokes, the Los Angeles Times reported Sunday.
Mitchum, who died Thursday, had over 80 feature films to his credit, including "Dirty Harry," "Stalag 17" and "Paint Your Wagon." He played Clint Eastwood's partner in several of the "Dirty Harry" movies.
Mitchum was also a singer and songwriter, but his career was overshadowed by that of his brother, who died in 1997.
