Gov. Mike Leavitt has appointed Bruce C. Lubeck to be a 3rd District Court judge, filling the vacancy created when Judge Homer F. Wilkinson retired. The appointment awaits approval by the Senate.

Lubeck has worked for 20 years as an assistant U.S. attorney for the district of Utah. He currently heads the narcotics section and is lead attorney for the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force. He also has worked as a public defender with the Salt Lake County Legal Defender Association.
