HUNTINGTON--<! > On the afternoon of March 6, 2001 our precious little angel lost her battle with cancer while in her mothers arms at home.
Misti was born on August 2, 1996 to Douglas and Dawna Failor Downard. Misti was always strong and very brave during all of her surgeries, radiation treatments, and chemotherapy treatments. She was a fighter and refused to give up. She always amazed us with things that she said and was very smart and would always tell you what was on her mind. Misti enjoyed riding her bike, playing in her playhouse, and going to Harts for nachos. She also enjoyed going for walks with her grandpa, loved to go to dance class, and even though she was here just a very short time she felt like she had already attended college (pre-school that is!) She loved her teacher Miss Kerry and her dance teacher Linda. She enjoyed her bedtime stories with her mom and calling her dad ugly and letting him rub her "magic ball" (her bald head). She would always talk Grandma Ma into taking her for candy. She shared her birthday with her Grandpa Pa. She would always charge her Uncle Jeff for kisses and would save every penny. She also enjoyed the playroom at Primary Children's and had a very special home health nurse Trish Davis. She loved to help the nurses with everything. Misti's favorite things in life were Kit Kat bars, going to Disneyland to see Mickey Mouse and playing air hockey. She loved to watch all her Disney movies and cartoons and would make her Grandma Lois change the channel and she also loved to sing songs from Lion King, Tarzan, and Pocahontas. She finished her dream when she put her feet in the ocean. She loved teasing her brothers and sister and her Chihuahua Cheako. She had a very "special" Raggedy Ann doll that she took everywhere especially to all her hospital stays and to bed with her every night. Misti had a very special friend, R.J. the clown, and enjoyed making sandy candy sticks. She always had her "Thumbs Up!!" for R.J. Misti was also given the honor of becoming an Honorary Clown and was given the name of "MISTI THE MAGICAL" among clowns all around the world.
Misti was loved and will be missed by her parents Douglas and Dawna, her brothers Timothy, Ryan and Joshua and her big sis Melissa. She will also be missed by her grandparents, Glen and Shirley Downard, Price; Bill and Lois Failor, Price; and her Aunts and Uncles, Bill and Wendi Downard, Castle Dale; Jeff Failor, Price; and Jodi and Wes Whitman, Rifle, Colo; and numerous cousins. Preceded in death by her Aunt Donna Irene Downard Jackson and Great Grandparents George and Nellie Brundage (Grandma "B"), Leo and Ida Downard, Ada Hamilton Cloys and Frank Moore, Harry Failor and Edith Failor Mayo.
