Van Watts, age 42, passed away peacefully in his sleep on April 5, 2001 at the home he shared with his best friend John Dignan and his faithful dog Velvet.

He was born April 7, 1958 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Cloris L. Watts and Margeen Woodruff Watts Schwantes. He was a friend to all and enjoyed his 23 years as an employee at Alta, Utah. Van enjoyed the outdoors, hockey, golf and time with his friends and family.

He is survived by Cloris and Rinda Watts, Margeen and John Schwantes; sisters, Lara Watts, Sue (Rob) Harper; brother, Preston (Kasha) Watts; and stepsisters, Jennifer (Roger) Thompson, Michelle Anderson; several nieces and nephews who love him dearly.

The family wishes to express sincere thanks to Van's many friends who loved him for who he was. The world will miss his free and gentle spirit.

Funeral services will be held Sunday 7 p.m. at the Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State St., where friends may call Sun. from 5:30 - 6:45 p.m.

A special wake will be held at Alta on Monday afternoon, April 9.

Please meet at base of Albion chair lift at 4:30 p.m.
