PROVO — WhizBang! Labs Inc. said Wednesday it had sold privately held FlipDog.com to TMP Worldwide, the owner of online job site Monster.com.
Terms were not disclosed.
FlipDog.com is a commercial career site with more than 600,000 jobs from more than 50,000 employers in more than 3,500 locations.
The Provo-based company employs 75 workers, all in Utah. No layoffs are expected, the company reported.
Since its launch in April 2000, FlipDog.com has grown to its current position as the fifth-most-trafficked Internet site dedicated to online recruiting as measured by unique visitors.
As part of this acquisition, WhizBang! Labs will provide TMP with additional information-extraction services. TMP will continue to operate FlipDog.com as a separate entity and Web site, serving as a data resource for TMP's other businesses.
"FlipDog.com's technology advantage significantly enhances our suite of market-leading products and services and provides all of TMP with a powerful pipeline-management tool," said Andrew J. McKelvey, chairman and CEO of TMP. "The upside is incredible. FlipDog.com will serve to drive new business leads for Monster and across TMP's other businesses, while broadening and deepening the services we can provide to our clients."
Founded in 1967, New York-based TMP has more than 9,500 employees in 32 countries. Monster.com, based in Maynard, Mass., has a global network in the U.S. and abroad.
