Guy Owen Woodward, age 86, of Holladay, UT, died peacefully on Saturday, June 09, 2001 in Salt Lake City. UT.
Guy was born April 24, 1915 in Franklin, ID to Ivan and Emily Rosina Hart Woodward. On Nov 11, 1937, he married Claire Hymas, in the Logan Utah LDS Temple. Guy served a mission with his wife during the years of 1937 to 1939. He graduated from Franklin High School, Utah State University, and received a master's degree in irrigation engineering from the University of Wyoming. He served on the faculty of the Utah State University and the University of Wyoming. Guy worked for many years as an irrigation engineer during which he authored a book about sprinkling systems. Guy served in the LDS Church as a Bishop, Bishop's Counselor, High Council Member, and various other callings. He loved music, grandchildren, his neighbors and a good practical joke.
Survivors include: daughters, Susan (James) Nicodemus Sandy, Teresa (Michael) Snow, Salt Lake City, Karren (Loel) Thometz, South Jordan; son, Richard Woodward of Salt Lake City, UT; 15 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife Claire, and his parents.
Funeral services will be Wed., June 13, 2001 at 1 p.m. at the Valley View 9th Ward Chapel, 4101 S. 1925 E. Friends may call Tues. evening, from 6-8 p.m., at the Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 S. 2300 E., and at the church on Wed. for one hour prior to the services. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
