LOS ANGELES — The two-time defending champion Los Angeles Lakers added another outside shooter Thursday, acquiring guard Lindsey Hunter from the Milwaukee Bucks for backup center Greg Foster.

The trade was to be announced by both teams later Thursday, Lakers spokesman John Black said.

Hunter had a disappointing playoffs for the Bucks, shooting just 15 percent from 3-point range and 24 percent overall, as Milwaukee finished one victory short of advancing to the NBA Finals.

The move will allow the Bucks to give reserve Tim Thomas more minutes at the shooting guard position.

Foster, an 11-year veteran, was used sparingly by the Lakers as a backup to Shaquille O'Neal.
