Home loan lender Republic Mortgage announced Monday that a group of Utah-based investors has purchased the company back from Cincinnati-based Fifth Third Bank Corp.
The investors are among the original Republic Mortgage managers and investors and include former Madison Square Garden president and chief executive officer Dave Checketts (a Bountiful native), L. Scott Leishman, Kenneth R. Cutler and Lowell L. Leishman, all of Bountiful. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The new company will be called Republic Mortgage Home Loans and will continue to operate under the Republic Mortgage name. Republic also will continue to operate retail, construction and wholesale operations, under the name New Line Mortgage.
