I lost my best friend and husband Bryan Long to Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma on Sept. 30, 2002. He fought his long battle with courage.

Bryan was born on August 12, 1959 to Thomas M. and Carol Denison Long. I, Kathy DiSera married Bryan Long on Dec. 2, 1978. Together we had a daughter Pamela and a son Justin whom he adored. He was very fond of his daughter's boyfriend, Tony Williams. He was baptized into the Catholic Church on June 8, 2002. He was employed at Kearns Improvement District for 17 years. Bryan enjoyed hunting, fishing, car trips, and going to Wendover. He liked working in his yard, and he enjoyed a beer with his buddies.

Along with his wife and children he also leaves behind one sister, Dana Sheppick; two brothers, Mark and Daren Long; his mother, Carol Long; and mother-in-law, Maxine DiSera. He is preceded in death by his father, Thomas M. Long Jr. and his father-in-law, Antonio DiSera.

Bryan and I want to thank the following people for their love, support and compassion: Dr. Patricia Legant; her nurse, Sharon and the rest of her amazing staff who got us through some trying times. We want to thank Kearns Improvement District for all their help, love and support, and especially for making Bryan's final wish come true. A special thanks to the guys he worked with for always being there for him. I want to thank Rachella Hiltz, Mike Taylor and Merle Easthope for helping at work get through a very difficult time; the three of you made it easier for me. Finally, the American Red Cross and all the anonymous blood donors. Thank you all.
