CROSS COUNTRY: The Utah men finshed 15th and the U. women 27th at the Pre-National Meet Saturday in Terra Haute, Ind.

Junior Delfino Arevalo led the men by placing 20th with a time of 24 minutes, 28 seconds. Freshman Kurt Michaels withdrew during the race with a knee injury but is expected to return for regionals next month.

Junior Tara Hall led the women, finishing 86th at 21:68.

SOCCER: The No. 25 ranked Utes (9-1-3, 2-0-1 MWC) played to a 0-0 tie against conference foe New Mexico Sunday afternoon at the UNM Soccer Complex. This tie marks the Utes' fourth double-overtime game this season.

BYU

CROSS COUNTRY: BYU's women placed first and the men placed third in their respective races at the Pre-Nationals Meet in Terra Haute, Ind., Saturday.

Kassi Andersen led the women's team with a sixth-place finish on the 6K course.

The split from BYU's first finisher to its fifth was only 26 seconds.

BYU's Kip Kangogo finished first for the men's team, which entered the race ranked No. 3 nationall.

Utah State

SOCCER: Amber Tracy scored two goals, but Utah State wasn't able to stop Cal Poly from coming from behind and beating USU 4-2 Sunday. With the loss, the Aggies fell to 6-8-3 overall and 0-5-1 in conference play.

VOLLEYBALL: Utah State lost a four-game match at Cal State Northridge Saturday night by final scores of 30-32, 30-27, 16-30, and 30-26 to fall to 9-10 on the season and 3-6 in the Big West Conference.

Junior Erin Cartwright hit a blistering .541 percent, with match-highs with 23 kills and seven blocks.

Dixie State

FOOTBALL: The Rebels, the 10th-ranked junior college football team in the country, remained unbeaten in league play with a 34-20 victory over Arizona Western in Yuma, Ariz. on Saturday. Dixie is now 6-2 on the year and 6-0 in the Western States Football League.

The Rebels trailed 20-13 midway through the third quarter before tying the score on a two-yard touchdown run by Josh Burkman. The Rebels took the lead for good early in the fourth quarter on a 47-yard run by Andre Sumner.

Snow College

FOOTBALL: The Snow College Badgers used special teams and total control of the line of scrimmage to spoil the Eastern Arizona homecoming. Snow led from start to finish in the 56-12 win to improve to 4-2 in conference and 5-2 overall.
