Whether you like the final results or not (is beauty achieved? are you late for school?), have you ever wondered how your morning routine compares to everyone else's? This week, Pulse reporters asked their fellow students: How long does it take you to get ready in the morning and what are the steps involved?
"I usually get up around 6:30. I shower and then I get dressed and do my hair and then eat breakfast. I head off to school at 7:30 or a quarter to 8, because it takes me around fifteen minutes to get to school."
— Cass Boren,
senior, Union High School
"It takes me 15 minutes to get ready. I wake up. I slam the alarm clock. I throw on a shirt and a pair of pants. I wash my face. I wash my hair. Then I run and eat the breakfast my mom made. Then I am out the door and in my car."
— Scot Frank,
junior, West High School
"It depends on what time I get up in the morning. Sometimes I get up at 6:30 and sometimes I get up at 8, frantically rushing around to get ready. I run to the shower. (I have to run to the shower because I don't like 'morning me.') It takes me about 15 minutes to shower. I get out and then I pick out my clothes and get dressed and then I do my hair and all that fun stuff. It usually takes me half an hour to an hour to get ready. I generally don't eat breakfast. I am also usually in a bad mood in the mornings. When I am on time I leave at 8, because I live out of town and it takes me around eight minutes to get to school. I usually walk into my class as the bell rings."
— Nathan Severan,
senior, Union
"I spend 10 to 15 minutes getting ready."
— Daniel Cherry,
junior, Lone Peak High School
"I usually get up at 7 and get in the shower really quick, and then I do my hair and eat breakfast, and then leave for school. I usually get there five minutes before school starts."
— Lori Ann Bruton,
senior, Duchesne High School
"I spend about an hour because I spend 20 minutes in the shower, and it takes me awhile to eat and straighten my hair."
— Nikki Bohne,
sophomore, Lone Peak
"First, I wake up around 5:30, and I sit there for about half an hour. I get in the shower, get out, blow-dry my hair, straighten it and curl it if I need to. I do my makeup and get dressed and get out of my pajamas. I leave for school about 8:10. I don't eat breakfast, usually."
— Lindsey Richens,
junior, Union
"I get up at 5:30 and practice the piano until 7. I shower, put on my makeup, get dressed and comb my hair. After that, I go and eat breakfast until around 8. I brush my teeth, and then I wander around the house and get all my homework and stuff together, and then I leave. I am regularly late to school."
— Mary Poulson,
senior, Duchesne
"It takes me about five minutes because I'm a guy."
— Jake Oliverson,
senior, Lone Peak
