Sheila passed away in a plane crash in Utah at age 66.

Sheila was born in Brooklyn, NY and graduated with a BA degree from Brooklyn, NY and an MA from Fairfield University, CT.

She married Arnold Zweig June 22, 1947 in Brooklyn, NY. The Zweigs had four children: Julie, David, Gary and Kenneth and lived in Westport, CT. Sheila worked as a Special Education Teacher in CT. Arnold passed away in 1981.

Sheila married George Peckar in Harrison, NY in 1987 and resided in Stanford, CT. In 1991, Sheila and George moved to Salt Lake City, Utah.

In Salt Lake City, Sheila was active in four book groups and enjoyed kickboxing and aerobics at the Cottonwood Heights Recreation Center. Sheila volunteered as a grievance counselor at the Sharing Place and participated on the Utah Citizen Care Foster Review Committee.

Sheila is survived and missed by her four children and five grandchildren Daniel Zweig, Marissa Zweiger, Logan Heine, Kate Zweig and Natalie Zweig. She is also survived by her brother, Ray Skutell and her brother and sister in-law Martin and Martha Zweig.

Memorial Services will be held May 2, 2002 at 4 p.m. at Evans & Early Mortuary, 574 East 100 South in Salt Lake City, Utah. Donations may be made to the Salt Lake County Library, Whitmore Branch.
