OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — Billionaire investor Warren Buffett is expanding into the kitchen.

Buffett-led Berkshire Hathaway Inc. announced Monday that it will acquire The Pampered Chef, the country's largest branded kitchenware company and largest direct seller of housewares.

Terms of the transaction, which was expected to close later this year, were not disclosed.

Based in Addison, Ill., Pampered Chef was founded by Doris K. Christopher, who will remain as chairman. The rest of The Pampered Chef's management team also will remain, Berkshire officials said.
