Born in Burlington Vermont. Adopted by Philip and Elizabeth Hastings. Her sisters are Pam, Ann and Mary. Liz died doing what she loved most, riding her mare Promise.

The words we write can never express the deep compassion and love Liz had for her only daughter Laurel and every living creature on this earth--especially her horses. There was a strong bond and love for two horses in particular, her mare Promise and her stallion Princi. Liz felt a responsibility to rescue any and all animals in need and did rescue many for a lifetime commitment. Liz touched many people's hearts with her love and uncanny connection with animals. Liz raised her only daughter on her own since Laurel's age of two and created a beautiful and loving woman.

Liz was an accomplished horsewoman, riding, training, showing and communicating with horses. She was a rock climber, and reached her goal in one year that would take years for most. She was determined and a perfectionist in everything she attempted. Far exceeded anyone's expectations except her own.

Laurel and Barney extend a special thank you to everyone who helped, supported, and was a friend to Liz.

We know that Liz is surrounded by her most valued loves and can ride at will. Laurel sends her love and will reunite one day.
