Obituary: Nathan Scott Godfrey

9/26/83 ~ 3/9/03

- Nathan Scott Godfrey died on March 9, 2003 trying to save a 13 year-old boy in Gualeguaychu`, Argentina while serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Nathan was born September 26, 1983 in Casper, Wyoming to Scott Reyns and Sarah Crookston Godfrey. He is the fourth of nine children. He graduated from Davis High School with high honors in 2002. Nathan was an Eagle Scout and loved serving others.

He always had a great desire to serve a mission.

Nathan loved being with his friends and family and he especially loved little children. He worked at Cherry Hill for four years to earn all of his own missionary funds. He was known as a hard working and independent young man.

He was blessed with a group of very good friends who are now serving missions throughout the world.

Surviving are seven brothers and sisters, Melissa, Michelle, Robert, Rebecca, Elizabeth, Katherine and Benjamin; his grandparents Jesse and Margie Godfrey, Bountiful; and Lynn and Melva Crookston, Ogden. He was preceded in death by an older brother, Aaron.

Funeral services will be held Monday, March 17, 2003 at 2 p.m. at the Kaysville South Stake Center, 900 South Main in Kaysville, Utah.

Friends and family may call Sunday, March 16, 2003 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main and Monday, March 17, 2003 from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. at the church. Interment, Lakeview Memorial Cemetery, 1640 East Lakeview Drive, Bountiful, Utah.
