Henry (Hendrik) Copier, 76, passed away peacefully April 11, 2003, surrounded by his loved ones.

Henry was born Oct 6, 1926 in Breukelen, Utrecht, The Netherlands, a son of Jan Copier and Jannigje De With Copier. He served in the Dutch Army before emigrating to the USA in 1948. He settled in Salt Lake City, UT and resided there until his death. He was a building contractor by trade and loved his work. He left a legacy of beautiful homes and buildings along the Wasatch Front. Among his favorite projects were the Brighton Girls Camp and the LDS Chapel at the top of Big Cottonwood Canyon.

Henry was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. During his lifetime he faithfully served in a variety of church callings, including Sunday School president, Elders Quorum president, and High Priest group leader.

Henry married Ann (Johanna A.) Sehlmeier in the Salt Lake LDS Temple Sept 27, 1950. She survives him, as do their six children, sons, Robert Henry Copier, Henry (Tamara) Copier; daughters, Dorothy A. (David) Bradford, Toni J. (Kevin) Simmons, Annette J. (Lowell) Klassen, Wendy A. (Jon David) Vawdrey; 21 beloved grandchildren; two great-grand-children; brothers, Govert Copier, Floris Copier; and sisters, Jan Anjewierden, Gay Roos, Marie Lee, Hennie Dicou. Preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jan Copier; sisters, Geertje, Trijntje Copier; and daughter-in-law, Claudia.

The family would like to thank those who have cared for Henry with so much compassion during the past few months.

Services will be Wed. April 16, 2003, 1 p.m. East Millcreek LDS Stake Center, 3103 E. 3600 S. Friends may call Tues. 6-8 p.m. Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 S. 2300 E, and at the church Wed. 11:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m. prior to the services. Interment, Elysian Burial Gardens, 1075 E. 4580 S. Directors, The Holbrook Mortuary.
