"Will Be Missed"

Michael Lee Burk, 47, Pleasant Grove, was killed along with two other men in a plane crash April 17, 2003 near the Provo Airport.

Mike was the son of Arch and Peggy Burk, and Richard and Jeanette Alexander, all of Fresno, CA. He married Julene Foster July 25, 1981 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple and together they had two children. They were later divorced. He married Kate Kettel, 1997, Bountiful LDS Temple; later divorced.

Michael grew up in Missouri and Oklahoma and later graduated from Hoover High School in Fresno, CA. He served an LDS Mission to the Taiwan Taipei Mission. Mike attended Utah State and received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. He later worked at Dell Computer in Austin, TX. Mike left to pursue his dream of becoming a pilot and flight instructor.

He loved riding mountain bikes, scuba diving, snowboarding, skiing, rock climbing and anything having to do with the outdoors that was challenging. He will be greatly missed by his family and many, many friends.

He is survived by his two children, Amanda, Chris Burk, Pleasant Grove; parents; two sisters, Kathy Burk, Fres-no, CA, Diane (Steve) Cox, Redlands, CA; nieces, Stephanie, Kaitlin; and nephew, Sam.

Services will be Tues. April 22, 2003, 1 p.m. Grove Creek LDS Fourth Ward Chapel, 942 N. 500 E, Pleasant Grove. Friends may call Mon. 6-8 p.m. Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 S. 300 E, Pleasant Grove and Tues. at the church one hour prior to services. Interment, Pleasant Grove City Cemetery.
