1931 ~ 2003
Robert Clinton Gunderson, 71, devoted husband, father and friend returned to his eternal home on June 23, 2003.
Bob was born the eldest of six children on Dec 6, 1931, in Burley, ID to Clinton Clyde Gunderson and Norma Deseret McBride. He was raised in Burley and L.A. and joined the Army upon graduation from Fremont High School. While stationed at Fort Riley, KS, he met and married Patricia Sue Neidhardt, his wife of 51 years. Together they raised five children, Jan (Charles) Reninger, Sherry, Robert Jr., Mark (Tamara), and Brenda (Barton) Ankenman. They have 17 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Bob had a lifelong love of genealogy and worked for the LDS Genealogical Society for 32 years. He was a devoted member of the LDS Church and sacrificed his time and talents to benefit his fellowman and the causes he valued.
He is survived by his wife, children, mother, brother Max (Rose), sisters Marlene (Thomas) Warnock and Gloria Janes, and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his father, two brothers and a great granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Friday, June 27th at the Capitol Hill 2nd Ward, 413 N. West Capital St. (50 E.). Friends may call at the church one hour prior to services, or on Thursday, June 26th, from 6-8 p.m., at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple. Family suggests donations to the National Diabetes Foundation or the American Heart Association in lieu of flowers.
