The USANA Amphitheater is negatively impacting its neighbors.
Before it was built, I heard West Valley's former city manager promise Kearns and West Valley residents that we would not be inconvenienced by noise or traffic problems. He cited sound studies and promised solutions for traffic concerns. He lied a lot at that meeting.
I live a half mile south of the amphitheater. West Valley says that the music stage faces the mountains and that no complaints have been received about noise. We hear music, and even more, we hear the noise of the crowds.
The Deseret Morning News article about the Dave Matthews band concert stated that the traffic jam on 4700 South began at 5 p.m. and stretched for miles and that loud obnoxious fans decided to shout and laugh throughout the show.
Those who live near the USANA amphitheater have to fight the traffic jams to get home from work. Metallica is slated to peform soon. We certainly don't look forward to that.
What is West Valley City planning to do to alleviate the problems?
