Los Angeles Mayor James Hahn and his wife, Monica, have separated after 19 years of marriage, his attorney said.
Hahn, 53, and his wife are living apart, attorney Patricia Glaser said Tuesday. Hahn was elected mayor in 2001.
Monica Hahn is a homemaker and part-time movie location scout. The couple have two children, Karina, 14, and Jackson, 10.
The mayor's office declined to comment Tuesday.
Glaser spoke on behalf of the mayor because he wanted to respond to rumors about his marriage, she said.
