LOS ANGELES (AP) — It was an "Os-fest" on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Thursday afternoon as fans from all over the world turned out to see the Osmond Family receive their own star.

The star honors siblings Alan, Wayne, Merrill, Jay, Donny, Marie and Jimmy for decades of work in entertainment. The star, the walk's 2,232nd, is located on Hollywood Boulevard, near La Brea Avenue.

"You know what's fun, we can now walk down Hollywood Boulevard and see our names because we've always done that and seen the names of other stars," said Donny Osmond, wearing a neck brace after a recent surfing accident.

Andy Williams, who helped give the Osmonds a break into show business some 40 years ago, was on hand at the Walk of Fame. The Osmond Brothers Quartet, made up of the four eldest brothers, debuted in 1962 on "The Andy Williams Show." Their performance was a hit, and they went on to become regulars for seven seasons.

Donny, Marie and Jimmy Osmond would later join their older siblings as they toured both nationally and internationally, making numerous recordings and TV appearances. In 1976, Donny and Marie Osmond became the youngest-ever television hosts with "The Donny and Marie Show," which their elder brothers helped produced.

"I think it's their talent, really, because I've never known a family as talented as they are," Williams told a journalist with KCAL-TV.

Marie told the TV station, "It's really an honor to share a star with so many brothers. I thought it was difficult sharing a bus together, but — you know."

Fans, some from around the world, enjoyed a visit with the celebrities.

"I've not eaten for three months to save all my pennies," said Jill Ratliffe from England. "It's a long way to come but it's so worth it."

Kristine Sandhop and Elayne Itzenthaler became best friends after meeting 30 years ago at an Osmond concert. The self-admitted Osmond groupies made a trip from Illinois to see the Osmonds again.

"I've been an Osmond fan forever, and this was way overdue and I just had to be here," said Darlene Ullery of Pennsylvania.

Thursday night, the Utah family met fans in what was titled "Os-fest."
