Election coverage: It's not quite all-voting, all-the-time, but it's close. The cable news networks (CNN, FNC, MSNBC) will be wall-to-wall election coverage pretty much all day and all night. The broadcast networks (ABC/Ch. 4, CBS/Ch. 2, NBC/Ch. 5 and Fox/Ch. 13) join in at 7 p.m. — and national coverage will be interrupted by the local stations' coverage of Utah races. PBS/Ch. 7 joins at 8 p.m. And, if all this gets to be a bit too much, there's always The Daily Show (8 p.m., Comedy Central) with its live, hourlong election special "Prelude to the Recount."
Kevin Hill (7 p.m., Ch. 24): An original episode airs on a night when UPN thinks it can get people who are sick of the election. In this episode, Kevin and Veronica defend a hockey player who attacked an obnoxious fan.
Gilmore Girls (7 p.m., Ch. 30): Emily and Richard learn that Lorelai is dating Luke.
Veronica Mars (8 p.m., Ch. 24): On election night, Veronica probes voter fraud in the school election. And real-life married couple Harry Hamlin and Lisa Rinna join the cast (for at least three episodes) as a pair of married movie stars who are the parents of one of Veronica's obnoxious classmates.
One Tree Hill (8 p.m., Ch. 30): Karen's nightclub opens. And, frankly, I'm getting bored with this show.
