Utah Power has contracted with Wright Tree Service to perform tree-trimming services in northern Utah.
Wright Tree Service will replace Trees Inc. beginning Jan. 1, with 14 crews operating in Utah. It is expected that additional crews will be added in April. Wright Tree Service will perform all vegetation management services in and north of Layton, and in Vernal.
PacifiCorp, which operates as Utah Power in Utah, spends $35 million annually in clearing trees from power lines throughout its six-state area. An average of 100,000 trees are pruned each year in the area in which Wright Tree Service will operate.
