STORRS, Conn. — Ann Strother scored a career-high 27 points to help fourth-ranked Connecticut overcome the loss of All-American Diana Taurasi and beat St. John's 82-49 Saturday.

Taurasi had two points when she injured her back blocking a shot with eight minutes remaining in the first half. She left the game with soreness.

But Strother hit seven 3-pointers and reserve center Liz Sherwood finished with career-high 10 rebounds for the Huskies (16-2, 7-1 Big East).

Kim MacMillan and Danielle Chambers scored 11 points apiece for the Red Storm (8-11, 2-6), who have lost 20 straight to UConn.

NO. 8 STANFORD 91, WASHINGTON ST. 67: At Stanford, Calif., Nicole Powell had 15 points, 10 assists and nine rebounds, leading Stanford over Washington State for the 38th straight time.

Susan Borchardt added 14 points for the Cardinal (17-3, 10-1 Pac-10), which won its 25th consecutive conference game at Maples Pavilion.

Bianca McCall scored a career-high 29 points and Charmaine Jones a career-high 19 for the Cougars (5-15, 1-10).

NO. 9 LOUISIANA TECH 75, UTEP 58: At Ruston, La., Amisha Carter had 20 points and 21 rebounds to lead Louisiana Tech to its seventh consecutive victory.

The Lady Raiders (15-2, 8-1 Western Athletic) have won all five of their five games against the Miners (10-8, 5-4).

Texas-El Paso got 11 points each from Vaida Zagurakyte, Noni Wharemate and Ana Valtierra.

NO. 11 COLORADO 68, MISSOURI 66: At Columbia, Mo., Tera Bjorklund made two free throws with 4.7 seconds remaining, and finished with 19 points to lead Colorado.

Kate Fagan added 15 points, Randi Wirt 14 and Veronica Johns-Richardson 10 for the Buffaloes (17-2, 6-1 Big 12).

StretchJames scored 16 points for the Tigers (11-7, 2-4).

NO. 12 KANSAS ST. 74, NO. 20 OKLAHOMA 65: At Manhattan, Kan., Nicole Ohlde had 27 points and 10 rebounds, and Laurie Koehn added 24 points to help Kansas State extend its home winning streak to 28 games.

Ohlde had a layup and Koehn a 3-pointer to give the Wildcats (15-3, 6-1 Big 12) a safe lead in the closing minutes after Oklahoma got within two points.

DionnahJackson led Oklahoma (13-6, 3-5) with 17 points and 14 rebounds.

CHARLOTTE 74, NO. 13 DEPAUL 70: At Charlotte, N.C., Peaches Harris scored 18 points — 15 of them from beyond the 3-point line — to lead Charlotte over DePaul.

Harris was 6-for-6 from the field — 5-for-5 on 3-pointers — as the 49ers (12-7, 5-1 Conference USA) beat a ranked opponent for the first time since 1997.

Charlene Smith led DePaul (18-2, 6-1) with 23 points.

NO. 16 BAYLOR 67, NO. 25 NEBRASKA 57: At Waco, Texas, Jessika Stratton had 15 points and nine assists, and Baylor used a late 16-2 run to pull away from Nebraska.

Chameka Scott and Sophia Young added 13 points apiece for Baylor (17-4, 5-3 Big 12).

Alexa Johnson paced Nebraska (14-5, 4-4) with 13 points.

RUTGERS 76, NO. 17 MIAMI 69: At Coral Gables, Fla., Cappie Pondexter scored 25 points, and Rutgers handed Miami its second home loss in four days.

Chelsea Newton added 21 points for the Scarlet Knights (12-7, 4-3 Big East).

Miami (16-3, 5-3 Big East), which lost to Notre Dame on Wednesday night, got 23 points from Yolanda McCormick.

NO. 21 TCU 96, UAB 66: At Birmingham, Ala. Sandora Irvin had 27 points — going 10 of 13 from the field and seven of eight from the line — and added 11 rebounds for TCU.

Dawn Chriss and Kerri Gardin added 14 points each for the Hokies (16-4, 5-4 Big East). Rochelle Coleman led the Orangewomen (6-12, 3-5) with 18 points, and Julie McBride added 17.
