1916 ~ 2004
Robert Lamont Stevens passed away Thurs., May 6th, 2004 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
He was born July 1, 1916 in Ogden, Utah to Henry B. Stevens and Mary Jane Mills Stevens. He attended Salt Lake City schools, and married Bernice Fowles in the Salt Lake Temple in 1939. He was the owner and general manager of a mechanical contracting company. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served three missions: the East Central States; two temple missions with his wife in Santiago, Chile and Mexico City, Mexico. He served as a bishop and in a stake presidency and managed two welfare farms for the church.
He is survived by his wife, Bernice F. Stevens, daughter Mary Ellen King, son R. Craig Stevens (Kim); 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grand children; a brother Melvin C. Stevens (Dorothy); two sisters Lucille Forward and Virginia Brady. A son Alan
Lamont Stevens is deceased.
Funeral services will be Monday, May 10th at 12 noon at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. So. Temple. A viewing will be held from 11-11:45 a.m. prior to the service. Interment Salt Lake City Cemetery.
