1907 ~ 2004
Leah Welling Kimball passed quietly from this life Thursday, May 6, 2004 for reasons incident to old age. Her last days were filled with many visits and expressions of love from family and friends. She continually expressed gratitude for her many blessings in this life.
Leah was born March 12, 1907 in Farmington, Utah, the first of five children born to George Albert and Judith Oviatt Welling. She grew up in Davis County and attended schools there. Later she graduated from LDS Business College and studied at Weber State College and the University of Utah. Leah married Golden L. Kimball in the Salt Lake Temple on June 4, 1936. He died on May 13, 1970.
Throughout life she was active and served in various LDS Church callings (music, teaching, leadership, etc.) on ward and stake levels. She loved her many wonderful friends. In 1984 to 1985 she served full time in the Oregon, Portland Mission. Upon returning home, she served as a guide on Temple Square in the Family History Library and Church Membership offices.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brother George Welling, sisters Marjorie Groesbeck (Jack) and Marie Wonnacott, brother-in-law Phyll Horn and daughter Marcia McGavock. She is survived by five sons: Richard J. (Patrice), Golden L. (Janice), Craig W. (Yolanda), David M. (Kris), Victor M. (Robyn); 27 grandchildren, 10 great-grand-children, sister Leila Horne, brother-in-law Vaughn Wonnacott and son in law Glynn McGavock.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 11, 2004 at Lindquist Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 East. Friends may call Tuesday from 9:45-10:45 a.m.
