Irene Moran 1910 ~ 2005 Irene Florence Lohnes Moran (Mrs. Ralph J Moran) died at Richardson Regional Medical Center, Richardson, TX, November 22, 2005. Irene was born in Pekin, Illinois, August 1, 1910, to William A. and Minnie Hunter Lohnes. She graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University School of Music in Bloomington, Illinois, in 1934, with a BME degree. She was a member of Sigma Alpha Iota Music Sorority and Phi Kappa Phi Honorary Society. She taught music at Mary Hardin-Baylor College for Women, Belton Texas, and Shawneetown, Illinois until she married Ralph J. Moran of Bloomington in the First Christian Church in Pekin, Illinois July 3, 1937. She was a cellist in the Vera Pearl Kemp Ensemble until the Moran family moved to Salt Lake City in August of 1949. She was an active member of Central Christian Church, Granger Community Christian Church, and AAUW (Salt Lake Chapter). From1998 to 2005 in Pittsburg Kansas, she was a member of First Christian Church, Disciples Women and the 21st Century Class. She was a resident of Arden Courts of Richardson, Texas from February 2005 until her death. She was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 55 years in 1992. Survivors: daughter, Rosemary M. (Gerald J) Corey of Culbertson, Nebraska; sons, Geoffrey H. (Ruth Ann) Moran in Salinas, California and Brian L. (Jan) Moran, Dallas, TX; seven grandchildren; eight great-grand children; and two great-great grandchildren. Memorial service of worship will be held Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2005, at 10:00 a.m. at the Granger Community Christian Church, 2600 W. 3800 S., West Valley City, UT 84119. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Granger Community Christian Church or any charity of your choice.
