Salt Lake-based Control4 announced Friday that it has raised $15 million in private capital as a result of a new funding round led by Foundation Capital.

The company, which specializes in home automation products, said the money will be used to develop and sell its products and continue its growth.

Control4's existing investors — Frazier Technology Ventures, Thomas Weisel Venture Partners and vSpring Capital — also participated in the latest funding round, the company stated. Adam Grosser, general partner of Foundation Capital, has been appointed to Control4's board of directors.
