Utah County businessman J. Kent Millington has been appointed to serve on the Utah Transportation Commission. Millington replaces outgoing commissioner Hal M. Clyde, who served on the commission for the past 11 years.

"I look forward to this exciting and challenging experience with the Transportation Commission," said Millington in a statement. "Utah's transportation system is facing many obstacles that require the commission to be innovative. I am eager to help overcome these challenges and help UDOT continue to make improvements to the transportation system."

Members of the Utah Transportation Commission are appointed by the governor to approve funding and prioritization of projects for the Utah Department of Transportation. The commission has seven members and meets monthly.
