The late A.W. "Bill" Johnson was inducted into the Utah Automobile Dealer Hall of Fame during ceremonies Thursday at the Utah International Auto Expo in Sandy.

Johnson began selling cars in 1953 for Lake Motors, a Lincoln-Mercury dealership on State Street in Salt Lake City. In 1954, he married Carol Menlove and began his first used-car operation on Highway 91 in North Salt Lake. With the support of his father-in-law, Roy Menlove, the Johnsons invested in a new-car dealership, Rambler Village, which later became Menlove Dodge/Toyota.

Son Wesley Johnson took over the Menlove dealership operations when his father died in 1997.
