Lots of TV shows have landed on DVD over the past couple of weeks, and more are due on Tuesday; here's a roundup, led by a number of diverse police procedurals:

TV SERIES

—"CSI: NY: The Complete Second Season" (CBS/Paramount, 2005-06, $72.99, six discs). The always reliable Gary Sinise stars in this Manhattan edition of "CSI," which got better in its second year. The cases are strong, if sometimes rather icky, and the characters are allowed to grow. There are also some unexpected but satisfying casting changes that came late in the season.

Extras: Widescreen, 24 episodes, audio commentaries, featurettes, language options (English, Spanish), optional English subtitles, chapters.

"Numb3rs: The Complete Second Season" (CBS/Paramount, 2005-06, $61.99, six discs). Fascinating FBI show, with the chief investigator (Rob Morrow) being aided by his math-genius brother (David Krumholtz). Enjoyable twist on the familiar genre.

Extras: Widescreen, 24 episodes, audio commentaries, featurettes, optional English subtitles, chapters.

"Medium: The Complete Second Season" (CBS/Paramount, 2005-06, $61.99, six discs). Patricia Arquette stars in this mystery-thriller with a supernatural twist, as a psychic who solves crimes. Good supporting cast helps, and the 3-D episode is here — complete with glasses.

Extras: Widescreen, 22 episodes, audio commentaries, featurettes, bloopers, language options (English, Spanish), optional English subtitles, chapters.

"Simon & Simon: Season One" (Universal, 1981-82, $39.98, four discs). Gerald McRaney is the eccentric, lazy investigator and Jameson Parker is his button-down brother, as they run a detective agency together in this amusing comedy-mystery hour from the early '80s.

Extras: Full frame, 13 episodes, featurette, optional English subtitles, chapters.

—"Scrubs: The Complete Fourth Season" (Buena Vista/Touchstone, 2004-05, $39.99, three discs). Zach Braff and the zany medical crew at Sacred Heart Hospital continue to lampoon medical shows in off-the-wall ways, with help from guests Matthew Perry, Clay Aiken, Heather Graham, Colin Farrell, Julianna Margulies, etc.

Extras: Widescreen, 25 episodes, audio commentaries, deleted scenes, featurettes, bloopers, music video, chapters.

"That '70s Show: Season Five" (Fox, 2002-03, $49.98, four discs). More funny, albeit raunchy, comedy from Topher Grace, Ashton Kutcher and friends.

Extras: Full frame, 25 episodes, featurettes, promos, optional English subtitles, chapters.

"Charmed: The Complete Sixth Season" (CBS/Paramount, 2003-04, $54.99, six discs). The trio of alluring witches in San Francisco continues to fight evil in this comedy/soap/supernatural show.

Extras: Full frame, 21 episodes, language options (English, French), optional English subtitles, chapters.

"Julia Child! The French Chef" (WGBH, 1963-71, color and b/w, $39.95, three discs). Episodes from Child's beloved cooking program, along with an "American Masters" documentary about Child.

Extras: Full frame, 12 episodes, documentary, printable recipes, text bibliography, chapters.

"Everyday Food, Volume 1" (Warner, 1993-2006, $14.97). The half-hour cooking series from Martha Stewart's company.

PBS DOCUMENTARIES/MOVIES

—"Marie Antoinette" (PBS/Paramount, 2005, $24.99). Two-hour documentary about the tragic queen during the French Revolution.

Extras: Widescreen, optional English subtitles, chapters.

"Napoleon" (PBS/Paramount, 2000, $24.99). Four-hour documentary look at the French emperor.

Extras: Widescreen, featurette, optional English subtitles, chapters.

—"Casanova" (WGBH, 2006, $19.95). Amusing, but most decidedly adult, three-hour "Masterpiece Theatre" retelling of the Casanova legend, with Peter O'Toole among the players.

Extras: Widescreen, chapters.

"The Wilkie Collins Set" (WGBH, 1998/1996, $29.95, two discs). Two previously released "Masterpiece Theatre" DVDs in a box set: "The Woman in White" (1998), an excellent 19th century thriller with Tara Fitzgerald sensing something's wrong about her wealthy half-sister's upcoming marriage, and "The Moonstone" (1996), an OK mystery about the disappearance of a sacred Hindu diamond that carries a curse.

Extras: Full frame, optional English subtitles, chapters. (WGBH titles can be ordered at 800-949-8670 or shop.wgbh.org.)
