Utah playwright-educator Tim Slover's new play, "Treasure," has been selected from more than 700 scripts by the Abingdon Theatre Company, New York City, to win the 2006 Christopher Brian Wolk Award for Excellence in Playwriting.

Following a staged reading on Oct. 30, the U. instructor will be awarded a $1,000 cash prize. Slover's play is based on a blackmail incident involving Alexander Hamilton, the nation's first secretary of the Treasury.
