Orville "Tex" Pinnock 1943 ~ 2006 Orville "Tex" Pinnock, 63, of Orem, Utah, a man whose heart was as big as his name, passed away November 24, 2006 at the hospital in Provo after a long and courageous battle with diabetes and its complications. Tex was born January, 1943 in CA to John Henry and Thelma Sarah Robertson Pinnock, and was raised in Plano, ID. He graduated from Sugar City High School, attended Ricks College, and graduated from Provo Technical College. He served a mission for the LDS Church in Northern CA, then shortly thereafter married his 'beautiful little bride', Pauline Ann Corbridge, in the Idaho Falls Temple, 1968. They built their life in Orem, UT where they raised five beautiful 'lucky' children, four daughters, and one son. Tex served faithfully in many church callings such as Primary and Sunday School teacher, various priesthood leadership positions, home teacher, membership clerk, and most recently as assistant executive secretary in the bishopric. Tex held the office of a high priest. One of his most enjoyable callings was that of being a greeter. After 30 years of government service, Tex recently retired from the Bureau of Reclamation in July, 2006. He enjoyed going to work everyday where he made lasting friendships. Tex enjoyed chess, camping, volleyball, chopping wood, vacationing with his family, and in later years traveling with his wife. He will be remembered by family and friends for his service, Christ like kindness, friendly and accepting personality, and his ability to find the positive in all situations, but Tex was best known for his BEAR HUGS. Survivors include his wife, Pauline, Orem; children, Debbie (Joe) Ivie, American Fork, David (Kristen), Centerville, Angie (Mark) Gillespie, Orem, Brenda (Chuck) Bergstrom, Orem, and Laura (Nate) Sewell, Provo. He is also survived by his brother, Terrell (Siri) Pinnock, ID; and sisters, Christine Barney, WA, and Cheryl (David) Madsen, MA; and 22 1/2 grandchildren who loved their "poppa". He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Charlene (Gordon) Tillack. Funeral services will be held 12 noon Wednesday, November 29, 2006, at the Sunset Heights 3rd Ward chapel, 1105 West 600 South, Orem. Family and friends may visit Tuesday evening November 28th, from 6-8 p.m. at the Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 646 East 800 North, Orem, and from 10:30-11:30 a.m. prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in the East Lawn Memorial Hills Cemetery. The people who loved and will miss him can't even begin to be counted. He would have thanked you all for your thoughts and prayers.
