Gordon J. Miller "Pops" Gordon Jay McGhie Miller died peacefully at his home on April 6, 2006. He was born September 2, 1933 in Salt Lake City, Utah to James Earl McGhie and Elizabeth Elva Potter. He married Olive Colleen Bryant January 15, 1956. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple March 17, 1998. Gordon was sealed to parents Roy Harrison Miller and Elizabeth Elva Potter, November 19, 1999 in the Jordan River Temple. He loved fishing and hunting in the great outdoors. Hunting waterfowl was his favorite. He was a member of the Ambassador Duck Club, and was the president of this club for several years. He was the owner of Mayflower Agency, Utah Moving & Storage for 25 years, the president of Utah-Idaho Warehousmen Association, and the president of Utah Air Boat Association. He was a recipient of the Transportation Man of the Year award by HAFB, an officer in National Defense Transportation Association, and an officer of a hunting club for youth. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, a high priest, and a scout master. Survived by wife, Colleen; children, Kenneth Roy, Gordon Lynn, Richard Jay, (Elena) Cherie (David) Anderton, Arthur Thomas; nine grandchildren; and brother, Dr. Richard Roy Miller (Jean). Preceded in death by his son, Phillip Edward. Funeral services will be Monday, April 10, 2006 at 11 a.m. at the Millcreek 2nd Ward, 4220 S. 420 E. where friends may call from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to services.
