A man who police say was printing pictures of child pornography using a computer at a local Fed Ex/Kinko's store was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail for investigation of 234 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, all second-degree felonies.

Samuel Chandler, 34, was in the store, 3330 S. 700 East, about 12:30 a.m. Saturday. Two customers noticed he was printing naked pictures of children and called police, said South Salt Lake Police Capt. Tracy Tingey.

When police arrived they found the man and a "stack" of pictures of naked girls between the ages of 8 and 14, he said.

"As I was speaking with Samuel I saw pictures of child pornography come out of the printer," one of the arresting officers wrote in his booking statement with the Salt Lake County Jail.

Officers learned the man had a disc of naked images but did not own a computer in his house, Tingey said. Chandler was using the computers at Kinko's to print the pictures, he said.

Investigators obtained consent to search Chandler's car and home where they said they found more discs filled with pictures of naked juvenile girls. A total of 234 pictures were found.

The images appeared to have been downloaded off a child-porn Web site, Tingey said. It was not known Tuesday if any of the victims were from Utah or if any of the original pictures were taken locally.

Detectives were also trying to determine Tuesday if he downloaded the pornographic images onto the disc himself or if the discs were given to him, Tingey said.
