Richter7, a Salt Lake-based marketing agency, announced two promotions. Teri Austin was promoted to medical marketing specialist. Hired in April 2004 as an account manager, Austin was most recently account supervisor for client services. Tyler Briggs was promoted to account manager. Briggs joined Richter7 in February 2006 as assistant account manager.

Dr. Alan F. Bitner has joined Intermountain Medical Group. Bitner specializes in allergy and immunology at the Intermountain Salt Lake Clinic. Previously a staff physician with Intermountain Allergy & Asthma Clinic in Salt Lake City, Bitner also has served as a clinic investigator at Intermountain Clinical Research and an adjunct professor of pediatrics at the University of Utah.

The Salt Lake law firm of Clyde Snow Sessions & Swenson announced four staff changes. Matthew S. Wiese was named a director and shareholder at the firm. Wiese earned both his undergraduate and law degrees from the U. His primary areas of practice include business law, mergers and acquisitions, tax, trusts and estates. Eric P. Lee has joined the firm as a director and shareholder. Lee formerly was a partner at Dart, Adamson & Donovan in Salt Lake City, where he practiced law for 20 years. Business litigation is his primary emphasis. Aaron D. Lebenta has joined the firm as an associate member. A graduate of the U. and the University of Oregon, Lebenta specializes in general and commercial litigation. Robert T. Andreasen (not pictured) joined the firm as associate. He is a graduate of the U. and Willamette University College of Law.

Marianne G. Sorenson, a real estate attorney at Jones Waldo in Salt Lake City, recently was elected an officer of the real property section of the Utah State Bar. Over the next four years, she will serve in successive officer positions as treasurer, vice chair and chair of the section.

Love Communications, a Salt Lake-based advertising agency, has added three new employees to its staff. Steve Wright is the agency's new director of interactive services. Wright, a Brigham Young University graduate, will work to integrate brand marketing into new media campaigns. Julia Jarrett is a new account coordinator and will work closely with the agency's social marketing and media teams. She also is a BYU graduate. Kate Pappas has become an account coordinator for the agency's public relations team. Pappas graduated from Westminster College.

Gordon Dames, president and chief executive officer of Mountain America Credit Union, recently was inducted into the Utah League of Credit Unions Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame was created in 2001 and has inducted nine people.

America First Credit Union has announced three management changes. Denise Hadfield was named manager of the Layton Highway 193 Wal-Mart Branch. Hadfield started at the credit union in 1997 as a teller and served most recently as the assistant manager at the North Ogden Branch. Kimberly Haussler was selected as the new manager for the American Fork Wal-Mart Branch. Haussler started at the credit union in 1999. Julie Wood was named manager of The Market at Park City Branch. She began working at the credit union in 2000.

Utah law firm Ray Quinney & Nebeker announced the formation of The Venture Practice group within its business law section, comprised of five lawyers joining the firm from the national law firm of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati. Mark Bonham, a corporate and securities partner at WSGR, and Matthew Wells, a venture capital attorney, will become shareholders at Ray Quinney & Nebeker. They will be joined by senior associates Aaron Murdock, Chris Shoff and Justin Judd, along with some associated members of their staff. The lawyers will continue to represent technology and life science companies.

Scott Nixon has been appointed office managing partner of the Salt Lake office of PricewaterhouseCoopers, effective July 1. He succeeds Scott W. Pickett, who has held the title since 1996. Nixon returns to Salt Lake from San Paulo, Brazil, where he represented the PwC Global firm, with oversight responsibilities for 18 PwC offices in Central and South America. Pickett has worked for PwC since 1980 and has accepted an offer to teach at the U. Joining Pickett in retiring from PwC on June 30 is Larry P. Shumann, who was appointed as a partner in the company's Salt Lake office in 1998. Shumann will continue teaching at Westminster College. Stanley D. VanderToolen will replace Pickett as tax partner-in-charge on July 1. A graduate of the U. and BYU, he has more than 16 years of experience in public accounting.

Salt Lake-based law firm Workman Nydegger announced the advancements of 10 of its attorneys to equity and non-equity positions within the firm. Attorneys R. Parrish Freeman, Peter F. Malen Jr. and L. Rex Sears advanced to equity shareholders. Attorneys Sara D. Jones, Tige Keller, Janna Jensen Lewis, J. LaVar Oldham, Michael J. Frodsham, Wesley C. Rosander and Ryan N. Farr advanced to non-equity shareholders.

Commercial real estate firm CB Richard Ellis has added a new team to its Salt Lake office. The team consists of industrial brokers Jim Berry, Doug Scheel and Carter Young. The team also is joined by sales assistant Troy Scheel. Berry, vice president, has been active in the Salt Lake real estate market since 1977. Doug Scheel, vice president, has experience in the construction and real estate business. Young, associate, started his commercial real estate career in 1997.

Neways Inc. has announced the appointment of Brian Slobodow as chief operating officer. Slobodow will report to Chief Executive Officer Eric Larsen and will manage the day-to-day operations of the Springville-based company. Slobodow has more than 15 years of experience in manufacturing, procurement and management.
