Obituary: Robert William Newhart

Robert William Newhart 5/8/1921 ~ 5/31/2007 BOUNTIFUL- Robert William Newhart, age 86, passed away Thurs., May 31, 2007 in Bountiful, Utah. He was born May 8, 1921 in Terre Haute, Indiana, the son of Carl and Edna Newhart. Married Leona Davison on February 10, 1945. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving in Hawaii during World War II. Robert and his wife Leona are members of the congregation of Spanish Fort Presbyterian Church in Spanish Fort, Alabama. Robert was also a lifetime member of the Mason's William Penn Lodge No. 727 in Terre Haute, Indiana and a member of the Scottish Rite. Retired from Chevron since 1983, he lived most of his retirement in the Mobile, Alabama area with his many friends where he was an avid golfer at Lake Forest Country Club, until 2005 when they relocated to Bountiful to be near family. Survived by his wife Leona, sons Joseph (wife-Marcia) and Richard (Krista), grandchildren Eric, Stephanie, Sara, Elizabeth, Kimberly, Richard and Bethany, great-grandson Zachary. Preceded in death by his granddaughter Courtnaey Newhart. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, Utah on Mon., June 4, 2007.
