Capital Properties founder Richard D. Cohen, the estranged husband of former CNN-TV anchor Paula Zahn, denied in court papers her accusations that he made "dubious investments" with money she earned.

Zahn, 51, who left Time Warner Inc.'s CNN in August, sued Cohen on Aug. 24 claiming he was her financial manager during their 20-year marriage and invested "millions of dollars" of her money in 42 partnerships and companies he controls.

In his answer to Zahn's complaint, filed in state court in Manhattan, Cohen said Zahn had misspent more than she earned as a broadcaster. The couple married in 1987 and have consulted lawyers about a divorce, according to court papers.
