• Wendy Bowden Crowther has been appointed secretary of the Energy, Natural Resources and Environmental Law Section of the Utah State Bar for 2008-2009. A director and shareholder at the law firm of Clyde Snow Sessions & Swenson, Crowther concentrates on the areas of water and environmental law and eminent domain. Her education includes a degree from the University of Utah.
• Drs. Steve Oliver, Michael Connolly, Tricia Anne Twelves, Emily Harold, Don L. Reese and Jana Dianne Bingman have joined the Granger Medical family of clinics. Oliver, in urgent care, practices at Granger Medical Clinic-Urgent Care in West Valley City. He previously was associate medical director and a staff physician at a clinic in Davis, Calif. Connolly, a psychiatrist, is practicing at the Granger Medical Clinic in West Valley. Twelves, an obstetrician and gynecologist, is practicing at Granger Medical Riverton. Harold, focusing on internal medicine and sports medicine, is practicing at the clinic in West Valley. Reese, a dermatologist, is in the Granger Medical Clinic in West Valley. He has been in private practice for more than 25 years in the Holladay area, specializing in the treatment of actinic damage, skin cancer and chronic inflammatory conditions. Bingman, a psychiatrist, will begin practicing at Granger Medical Clinic on Monday.
• Jonathan Liechty has been promoted to audit manager in KPMG LLP's Salt Lake City audit-services practice. Liechty has five years of experience in public accounting and auditing. His education includes degrees from Utah State University.
• Wells Fargo Private Bank has announced a few personnel changes. Justin J. Butterfield, a senior private banking officer for Wells Fargo Private Bank, has been promoted to private banking manager for Utah. He will manage private banking officers in Wells Fargo's Salt Lake, central and southern Utah markets from his office at the Wells Fargo Utah headquarters in Salt Lake City. Butterfield, who has more than 13 years of experience in financial services, had held many positions, including senior private banking officer, business-development officer, commercial-lending officer and relationship manager. His education includes a degree from Utah State University. Mariana L. Mavor has been named senior private banker for Wells Fargo Private Bank in Utah. She will work from Wells Fargo's Utah headquarters in Salt Lake City. Mavor, who has more than seven years of experience in financial services, joined the Wells Fargo team from another bank, where she was a private-banking relationship officer, commercial-lending assistant relationship officer and commercial real estate loan-closing officer. Mavor's eduction includes degrees from the University of Utah and Westminster College. Joel Swogger, a private-banking officer for Wells Fargo Private Bank in Salt Lake City, has been reassigned to the company's central Utah market, working from Provo. Swogger, who has seven years of experience in financial services, has served nearly two years as a private-banking officer for Wells Fargo in Salt Lake. He previously was a relationship manager and loan officer for another company. His education includes a degree from Brigham Young University.
• Joseph "J.D." Kesler has joined the law firm of Clyde Snow Sessions & Swenson as an associate. Kesler's education includes degrees from the University of Utah.
• Misti Mecham has joined Building Utah Youth as foundation director. Her duties will include development and implementation of a fundraising program as well as oversee the management of the organization. Mecham has seven years of marketing and fundraising experience. Also, Chad Sorenson of Sorensen Construction Inc. has been named as chairman of the Building Utah Youth board and Adam Wilson of City 1st Financial has been named co-chair of the organization.
• Curtis Mortensen has joined The Summit Group Communications' interactive department as a computer programmer. Mortensen will be responsible for programming Web sites for any applicable client at the company and supporting the rest of the interactive department. He previously worked for another company as a server-side Web developer. His education includes a degree from the University of Utah.
• Damon Harris has been promoted to operations manager at Marmon/Keystone's Salt Lake City service center. His career began as an inside salesperson in Salt Lake City and he later transferred to Denver, where he held positions as account manager and administrative manager before being named inside sales manager in Denver. His education includes a degree from the University of Utah.
• Kevin Shurtleff has joined the Eastern Region Technology Outreach team of the Utah Science, Technology and Research, or USTAR, initiative. Shurtleff will assist existing and emerging companies as part of USTAR's technology job-growth initiative. Shurtleff founded and was president of Mountain West Energy and was the founder and president of Trulite Technology and Synexus Energy. He has directed alternative and unconventional energy products for the past 10 years, including solar-cell material research at the University of Utah. He previously was a senior scientist, project manager and product manager at another company. Shurtleff's education includes degrees from Brigham Young University.
• Stephen L. Davis has been named president of Paradigm Medical Industries Inc. Davis was previously the company's vice president of sales and marketing and he has more than 20 years of experience in the ophthalmic industry. He has served as president of a business development, distribution management and sales training services company; served as president and chief executive officer of a medical-devices manufacturing and distribution company; and held other senior management positions at a pair of other companies.
• Charles J. Knudsen has been appointed director of quality at inthinc. He will manage quality assurance and improvement throughout the company. While working at Inovar, a division of inthinc, Knudsen held leadership roles in developing and expanding manufacturing capabilities. Prior to inthinc, Knudsen served as supplier quality engineer, a process and quality engineer and a manufacturing engineer for other companies. His education includes degrees from Brigham Young University.
