CARSON, Calif. — Carlos Ochoa, Marco Fabian, Hector Reynoso and Gonzalo Pineda converted post-game penalty kicks to give CD Guadalajara the InterLiga tournament championship with a 4-2 victory over Morelia after a 1-1 tie in regulation in the second game of Sunday night's double-header.

In the first game, Pachuca goalkeeper Miguel Calero stopped four shots in 13 rounds of post-game penalty kicks for a 10-9 victory over Atlas following a 3-3 tie after 90 minutes of regulation.

CD Guadalajara, also known as Chivas, and Pachuca thus qualify for the Copa Libertatores, South America's most prestigious club tournament.

Chivas will join a four-team group with Argentina's Lanus, Everton of Chile and Venezuela's Caracas. Pachuca will meet Chile's Universidad in a playoff for a group berth.

San Luis qualified for the Copa Libertadores by finishing Mexico's spring 2008 season as the overall leader.

Ochoa converted the first post-game penalty kick, then Morelia's Wilson Tiago missed high and wide right.

After Morelia's Marvin Cabrera and Oscar Rojas made their kicks, Chivas goalkeeper Luis Ernesto Michel blocked Hugo Droguett's shot to ensure the victory.

Morelia exploited Ochoa's own goal to move ahead 1-0 in the 57th minute. Chivas tied the score on Fabian's 24-yard volley in the 66th minute.

Morelia had to play with 10 men after Fernando Salazar received a red card for a rough foul in the 67th minute.

Pachuca's Paul Aguilar converted his penalty kick to make it 10-9. Then Calero lunged to block Jorge Achucarro's shot with his right hand.

Calero previously stopped Achucarro by pouncing to his right, dived to parry Luis Robles's shot away and blocked Lucas Ayala's attempt.

Pachuca built a 3-0 lead in the first 34 minutes. Edgar Benitez scored in the 14th and 17th minutes, followed by Christian Gimenez in the 34th.

But Atlas rallied in the second half despite playing with 10 men once Hugo Ayala received a red card in the 45th minute.

After Gonzalo Vargas scored in the 49th minute, Lopez committed an own goal in the 71st minute. Achucarro tied the score in the 88th minute with a looping 18-yard header just out of Calero's reach.
